Replacement ROM chips for Sounds Plus sound board, and Vocalizer speech board, as used in some Flash Gordon games (see note below). If your Flash Gordon game uses the Squawk & Talk sound/speech board instead (this is more common), click here.
These chips are 2532 EPROM chips.
Chips come with installation info including a link to online step-by-step instructions (with pictures).
Software Revision History for Flash Gordon: None (not available, or never published/released by manufacturer).
IMPORTANT NOTES FOR Flash Gordon: Most Flash Gordon games used the Squawk & Talk sound/speech board. A few used the Vocalizer board, which requires special chips for CPU U6, sound board U4, and Vocalizer board U1-U7.
ROM chips for Vocalizer board are available only in English language.
French and English versions for the Squawk & Talk board both use the same MPU board game ROM chips.
IMPORTANT NOTES FOR EARLY BALLY & STERN ROM CHIPS:
- Replacement chips we sell are for original Bally and Stern circuit boards. They may not work on some aftermarket replacement circuit boards.
- Your board must be jumpered and/or modified to use the type of chip(s) you are installing, otherwise the board will not work. (Click here for more info).
- Before ordering, you will need to determine the type of chip you are replacing, which should match what your board is jumpered for. (Click here for more info).
