Type LM317K for use in 5v power supply regulator circuitry. TO-3 case. As used in later-model Bally/Williams pinball games, approx. 1995-up (WPC-95 systems), for the 5vdc logic power supply. If you have high voltage on both sides of your regulator, or have a problem with low 5vdc power, or if your game is intermittently resetting or not starting up, you could have a bad regulator. Replace for a healthy power supply!
HINT: Don't forget to use some heat sink compound on the back of the regulator when installing, to aid in the transfer of heat away from the regulator, to maintain performance and extend component life.
