Side-mounted flipper return spring for most late-model Gottlieb electro-mechanical (EM) and some early solid-state (SS) pinball games.
This spring returns the flipper to the low / rest position, and connects between the flipper crank/pawl, and baseplate bracket (see parts diagram image below for detail).
